R. SCOTT RAMSEY, JR.

Mr. Ramsey was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was raised in Houma, Louisiana, and has practiced law in the Morgan City, St. Mary, Louisiana, area for the past 33 years. He is married with three children and two grandchildren.
His primary areas of practice involve personal injury litigation (maritime, auto and onshore and offshore oilfield-related injuries), disability law, including Social Security hearings and appeals and ERISA related claims, medical and legal malpractice claims, conflicts between workers and employers, successions, estates and wills. Mr. Ramsey has chosen to represent a few small businesses in business-related litigation. He has extensive trial experience.
Mr. Ramsey is a 1974 graduate of Loyola Law School in New Orleans where he received several academic awards and had the distinction of scoring one of the highest grades ever recorded there on a law school exam: a 135 out of a possible 100. Mr. Ramsey is a past president of the St. Mary Parish Bar Association, a past legal advisor to the Nicholls State University Alumni Association and formerly served as an elected member of the St. Mary Parish Council (i.e. county commissioners).
Mr. Ramsey has served as a member and officer on various political, civic and charitable organizations. His non-professional interests include hunting, fishing, and traveling.

Mr. Skiles graduated in 1996 from Florida State University with a bachelor of science, cum laude, with a focus in political science. Mr. Skiles graduated from Louisiana State University Law School in Baton Rouge with a Juris Doctor in 1999. His primary areas of practice involve personal injury litigation, admiralty and maritime law, Jones Act and Seaman claims, workers' compensation, including longshore and harbor workers' claims and ERISA claims and disability law. Mr. Skiles also handles business-related litigation, successions and wills.
Mr. Skiles is married and has three children. He was raised in Morgan City, Louisiana, and has practiced law in Morgan City for the past 3 years and in Lafayette for the 5 years prior to his relocation.
Mr. Skiles is a member of the St. Mary Parish Bar Association and Louisiana State Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in the State of Louisiana (all courts) and federal court (Western, Eastern and Middle districts and United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals).
Mr. Skiles has served as the Juvenile Attorney in St. Mary Parish for 2 years, working closely with Child and Family Services in the local community. His primary non-professional interests are fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
